Anti-Bush Indie Rocker "RPM" Throws Grenade Into Audience at Packed LA Club

Indie artist RPM stuns crowds with toy guns, gas masks and grenades at her packed LA show Thursday night as she gets set to headline the Los Angeles Music Festival October 13, 2004 with her critically acclaimed rock show

October 5, 2004 -- Indie rock artist RPM released her controversial anti-Bush EP "A YOUNG PERSON'S GUIDE TO BEING AN AMERICAN" September 15 featuring shocking imagery of herself strapped with an assault weapon, handgun, grenades and a gas mask. Coming on the sunset of the assault weapons ban, this timely protest EP features "W" sampled into a powerful cover of the 1989 #1 hit TOY SOLDIERS. RPM kicked off her latest release this past Thursday in LA at The Gig on Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles, to a filled to capacity crowd (the show was sponsored by the hip MySpace.com).

Setting off some alarm bells and panic, the crowd responded with overwhelming approval and riotous applause after realizing the statement was just that - a statement. RPM, whose debut album Irrational Anthem was self-released 01/20 of this year to critical acclaim, gets set to headline The Los Angeles Music Festival on October 13 at The Knitting Factory in Hollywood. Featuring special guests Hollygrove Children & Family Services, Music For America, Hip Hop For Humanity and InnerCity Struggle, RPM has aligned herself to be crowned the next rock activist. For more about RPM visit her website at www.rpm.tv and make sure to spend some time on her RANTS pages...kicked off with the phrase "Stereotypes are usually right" this atypical rocker girl is setting out to prove that not everyone is censored in this era of sanitary art.
